Did you know that if you upload a font file, you can automatically use it on the wiki? I did not, how do you do that? Upload and font file you want to use, give it a name, then that will appear as a font choice- but only if it is shared to the public. Give it a try.

Can a wizard do the following: write a spell from his spellbook in another spellbook, so that the entire formula is retained? A wizard may only have 1 spell book. He may make scrolls only while the spell is in his spellbook. If he makes the scrolls then removes it from his spellbook he will no longer be able to make scrolls of that spell. The spellbook is more than a book it is a magical piece of the wizards mind so simply copying the spell symbols into another book is insufficent.
Why I'm asking: I'd like to see if I can't switch out two non-focus item spells in my spellbook for Resist Energy. At the ability to cast it as a focus item, that saves me a good deal of $$$. My thought is, if I go after focus item spells and retain them as spellbook spells, I can use other, non-focus item spells as scroll casting spells, which increases their cost a bit but still allows me time to develop the several extra $K's it takes to make a new spellbook page.
Can I get 1000gp value for less than 1000gp with the merchant skill? If I know the value of the components I need to make new spell pages, can I use my merchant skills to reduce the cost? Yes, the actual value of the item is what is used to deem it worthy as a component. How much it is bartered for is irelevant, so you can get things cheaper in some cases.
Does having a metamagic feat help with spell modification research; how is using this feat different than making a new spell? The metamagic feat simply attempts to manipulate the spell on the fly, while spell modification is a permanent thing. Metamagic may give an insight bonus for spell manipulation but if so not much.
What is the spell modification dc for ‘lesser’ spells (you mentioned reduction)? In order to research more powerful circles, can I create limited versions of the spells, such as a lesser fireball, a lesser imprint, a lesser teleport, for example? If you have a spell you wish to reduce such as fireball it would be possible to lessen the area effect or damage in an attempt to reduce the level of the spell or for some other purpose. However, the DC remains the same going up or down, spell manipulation is difficult even if it is just to reduce the power of a spell.
