Halflings are a race of short human-like creatures who live in the hills to the north. They are a peaceful people who enjoy in simple pleasures and are easy picking for a slaver. Many halflings who reside in the hills near nessar consider an anual tradition to offer up to the Dragon Casters their strongest and brightest as well as a large portion of their harvest instead of tempting their vengful fury.
Halfings have been found to be naturally subservent but some are more cunning then they appear. A wise man would be cautious of any halfing, slave or not, for they are constantly underestimated and are often in well placed positions to overhear a secret conversation or to kill a foolish master.
Halflings are considered great cooks and singers and often decorate a wealthy house. They have little use when it comes to physical labor. The Apothecary college will often purchase halflings to use in one of their experiments which almost always end badly. It is also not uncommon to see a Halfling being used a training dummy for children in the School of Myrmidiae.
