*BG - Below Ground, AG- Above Ground

History of Aderon, written by Nalwinder, Lore Keeper of the Explorers Guild.

0- about 4900 BG - History around 4900 BG or before is vague at best. 0 refers to a time in which it is believed both the Hamil and Cracal existed along with the Dvergar, however it is believed by the Dvergar that they existed atleast 1000 years before the Hamil or Cracal were even in existance. This was supported by a number of very ancient tomes written in old Dvergar, which are now destroyed, and the truth of the matter is left up to debate by more recent historians. It is also no longer known how the Hamil or Cracal came into existance and if they were enemys from the start or not. It appears that the Dvergar stumbled upon both races at the same time, but the circumstances are not known.

However, it is believed that racial hatreds between the Dvergar and Cracal go atleast that far back. It is believed that the Dvergar are the ones who first started agressions towards the Cracal.

Around 4905 BG the Dvergar were pushed up to the surface world by the Cracal forces. In remaining Dvergar texts it is said that the Cracal were given a weapon from a demonic source. This weapon was used to push the Dvergar close to defeat. The Dvergar continued to travel higher and higher in search of something that would let them fight this new weapon. At the time they were under the leadership of Kaldrungar, the first of the Dvergar Kings. Kaldrungar was also the carrier of the Heart of Grugnal; A golden orb that was later discovered to become bright when the Sun Orb rises high in the sky and dark when the Red Moon begins to show. The carrier of the orb, whether due to natural fortitude or some sort of divine power, seems to age much more slowly than other Dvergar. Most Dvergar can stay alive for around 600 years if they don't die of sickness or in battle. The carrier of the Heart of Grugnal seems to be able to survive for atleast 5500 years as is the case with Kaldrungar, before he fell in combat. After his fall the Dvergar fought over who would lead their people. The most capable warriors decided that they would have a duel to see who would carry the orb. Ever since then it has been the way of the Dvergar to have a competition for leadership once a king falls and claim the Heart of Grugnal as a symbol of leadership.

On the surface world the Dvergar began to find new resources, such as wood and ways to obtain metals. At the time this gave the Dvergar the means to hold and build in the surface realm and hold back the Cracal threat. The Cracal, for many years, were unwilling to bring the fight to the surface due to the pain the Sun Orb caused them. Eventually they were able to figure out that under the Red Moon their vision was better than the Dvergars and became brave enough to venture onto the surface world. The years of Below ground ended in BG 4959 when the Cracal secretly came to the surface in the northen reigon of Aderon known as Barrow.

AG 0 - 0 Refers to the time in which the Cracal were first discovered on the surface world by the Dvergar and when the Hamil city of Darol was first completed.

AG 15 - The Dvergar dominated most of the surface world, going from what is now known as Tomdol, Grungdar and parts of Barrows. The Cracal, however, in the year AG 15 changed that by burning their way through the Dvergar realm. They were able to attack and have a loose grip on the lands of Barrow, western Grungdar and Entel. During This time the twin Hamil brothers Kanil and Twanil became interested in the weapon of the enemy and studied it at every opportunity. The Current ruler of the Dvergar was Mandurida, who has ruled since the first king died.

AG 17 - Mandurida leads a great battleforce across western Grungdar, which the Cracal at the time called Demirif ( Corpse Road), Along side him were his advisors Twanil and Kanil, whois understanding of the enemy captured Mandurida many victories.

AG 20- Mandurida captures most of Grungdar back but is tricked by Ivistier , a powerful general in the Cracal army. Ivistier was in a Cracal supply post which appeared vunerable. When Mandurida appeared by night it is said an army of Cracal which had no fear assaulted his forces. Mandurida and Ivistier met in battle and the second Dvergar king fell that night. It is written that Dvergar had no fatal wounds on his body but was pale and cold. Most believe Ivistier used a poison to kill the great Dvergar king. When day came the Cracal retreated, leaving a demorilized and leaderless Dvergar force behind. The Dvergar wrote that after the battle no enemy dead could be accounted for, only Dvergar bodies were ever recovered.

AG 25 - Dvergar forces gain a new King , Dundulham.  Twanil and Kanil during the time after the fight with Ivistier became secretive and shut in. They did not come back to join any battles until AG 27.

AG 27- The new king Dvergar had a hard job keeping the Borders of Gungdar safe from assaults in the north and south. The Cracal from Barrow made a devestating assault from the lands of Barrow which later was believed to be led by Ivistier. During the assault Twanil and Kanil joined king Dundulham, to his surprises, as he did not expect them. They gave him tactically useful information about the enemies position and plans, that not even the Kings scouts had provided. This gave Dundulham the edge when battle was met. The twins then mysteriously vanished and it is rumored that they are responsible for the explosions that destroyed the Cracal's flank and bought Dundulham and his forces victory. Once again the battle lasted throughout the night and when the Sun Orb rose, no Cracal bodies were found.

AG 27-35, Battles continued around the lands of Gungdar though King Dundulham grew short tempered and sickly. Twanil and Kanil were spotted during many key battles only to mysteriously vanish soon after. Ivistier was not seen ever again.

AG 36-90 - Twanil and Kanil pushed south with the Dvergar forces and assaulted the lands of Entel. The battles that took place were numerous and difficult despite the aid the Dvergar recieved from Twanil and Kanil. Around AG 85 the Dvergar made it to the heart of the southern Cracal lands. A Cracal called Jaruzit Lord of the South was at the battle of Orangnadus Stronghold., the main Cracal battle fortress in the south. After the battle Jaruzit's body was found pale and dead similar to the death of King Mandurida. Once the battle was resolved Twanil and Kaninl were seen returning to Darol and soon after disapeared. The more religous of folk believe they left the Mortal realm and joined the Gods and are responsible for the later creation of the Twilidin race. Twilidin means Creation of the Twins.

AG 90 - Later that year a group of Cracal known as the Spider's hands came from Barrow led by Niril, unoficially called the Death shadow, came from Barrow and killed many Dvergar Generals as they slept, distabilizing the Dvergar hold on Gungdar. He is said to have been skilled in the arts of sneaking and killing from afar. His troop the Spider's hands were a powerful group of Cracal assassins and infiltrators.

The Dvergar were force to pull forces out of Entel and reinforce their main lands, this gave the Cracal the means to assault Entel once more and claim it for their own.

AG 90-125 - Many battles took place between the Dvergar and Cracal during this time. Lands were lost and reclaimed, however it would seem that the Dvergar had gained the advantage and would soon crush the remaining Cracal forces.

AG 130 - A Cracal leader named Horung led a secret force from the south and attacked the King Dundulham's forces while he and his men were on route to a stronghold on the borders of Gungdar. The Cracal forces stumbled upon them accidently and had spotted them before Dundulham's forces spotted Horung's. Using this Horung led his people down into battle, both sides took heavy loses. Horung was a powerful warrior and defeated Dundulham in combat, this forced the remaining Dvergar to retreat. The Dvergar traveled many weeks with the Cracal just on their tails. The Dvergar eventually decided it best to take refuge in the Hamil city of Darol and reinforce their. Unknown to the Dvergar Horung met up with the Spider's Hands and this gave them enough power to assault the city of Darol before the Dvergar could get reinforcements. Darol fell that year and was burned to the ground. Horung occupied Darol for a time before it was assaulted by a large Dvergar force, Horung left his men to fight and escaped with the Heart of Grugnal in his possession.

AG 200 - After many years of searching the Dvergar discovered the location and Cracal who had the Heart of Grugnal. It was a Cracal named Festridus the Foul, leader of the largest Cracal force in the south. The Dvergar persued the Heart of Grugnal for another century before it was recovered.

AG 300 - The Heart of Grugnal was reclaimed and Darguld became the new King of the Dvergar. The Twildin were discovered during this time by the Cracal. They numbered in the thousands and were encountered in the Southern forests. When the Cracal first encountered them they say one of them fighting with a bear. The others Twildin simple looked and watched as this man slaughtered a bear with his hands alone. The Cracal watched the Twildin for many years before deciding to come to them and offer to teach them the ways of war. In doing so they made a powerful ally to use against the Dvergar.

AG 398 - The Twildin forces always worked idependently of the Cracal forces but shared intelligence and often joined together in battles. The Twildin, however, decided to no longer participate in the Surface War and took some lands to the south-east, now known as Ordus. They offered the Dvergar a peace treaty, which they took. Soon after the Cracal in the south too offered up a peace treaty and a council was gathered by representitives of each race to make demands and conditions on the signing of the Great Treaty. Four copies were made which each race holds in its captial city. The Cracal of the Barrow, however, did not sign a peace treaty and are still a threat from the north.

AG 400-1010 - The signing of the Peace treaty - Present Year - During this time many felt the peace was a fake and only used to trick one another. The Dvergar were strict about keeping to the treaty and any who attempted to cause discontent between the races were banished from the kingdom and became outcast called the Oruk. This soon became a constant thorn in the side of each of the four major nations. Trade agreements were also made between the races and New Darol became the center for major trade and a controled market. The Dvergar King Darguld still rules now into his 612th year as King. He throne is in the mountains above Lake Grugnadon, a place called Bardur Haven. The Cracal are ruled by King Namradura in the Entel City of Haunt and the Twildin are ruled by a religous leader named Varsis in Castle Town. New Darol is run by a council of Hamil called the Gate Keepers.
